Djangonaut Space Grant

• The Django Software Foundation Board approves a grant of $5,000 per year to Djangonaut Space for three years, for a total commitment of $15,000, to support contributor development, conference financial aid and travel, equipment and volunteer expenses, and related program costs.

DjangoCon US

• The DSF shared a booth with Djangonaut Space.
• The DSF Membership Meeting was held at DjangoCon US and went well.
• The agenda majorly included: Executive Director search, Membership and potential voting changes, Steering Council update + DEP 0020 + DEP 0019 changes

2026 Django Developers Survey

• The second PyCharm fundraising campaign has concluded, following an extension of the campaign deadline from September 10 to September 14.
• The 2026 Django Developers Survey results have been published.

Oracle Sponsorship

• The Oracle sponsorship agreement has been signed and executed.

DEP 0019 — Technical Governance for the Django Project

• The Board reviewed the latest revision of DEP 0019 - Technical Governance for the Django project (formerly DEP 0018).
• Motion Passed: RESOLVED, that contingent upon approval of DEP 0019 by the Steering Council, the Django Software Foundation Board supports the changes proposed in DEP 0019, including the relocation of Security Team-specific responsibilities and governance provisions to the Security Team charter or other appropriate governance documents.

Executive Director Search

• The Board discussed the application review and screening process.
• Applications are scheduled to close on September 14. The Board will assess the applicant pool and determine whether an extension to the deadline is necessary.
• The Board will meet again next week to determine next steps.

New business

Sponsorship Plans

• A new sponsorship plans pull request has been proposed to create a more direct sponsorship funnel for prospective sponsors.
• The proposal incorporates feedback following DjangoCon US.
• The Board discussed the possibility of offering a bundled sponsorship plan that would combine multiple sponsorship opportunities.

Action items

• Board to meet next week to review the Executive Director applicant pool and determine next steps in the working meeting.
• Priya Pahwa to prepare and publish the Executive Director application reminder/extension blog post.
• Jeff Triplett to schedule the Executive Director planning follow up session for the board members.
• Jeff Triplett and Ryan Cheley to follow up on membership changes announcements.
