Executive Director Hiring Update

• The Board met in advance of this meeting to discuss, plan, draft, and announce the Call for Applicants for the Django Executive Director.

Sponsorships

• The Board discussions with Oracle resulted in securing Platinum sponsorship.
• The Board worked with JetBrains to finalize the second part of the fundraising event and prepare for the release of the 2026 Django Developers Survey.

• djangogigs.com has been transferred to the DSF and is now live at github.com/django/djangogigs.com.

DEP 0019 — Technical Governance for the Django Project

• The Steering Council is pending moving DEP 0019 - Technical Governance for the Django project (formerly DEP 0018) into an acceptance state.

DSF Fellow Sabbatical Policy

• A draft of the DSF Fellow Sabbatical Policy was created by the board members.
• Motion Passed: RESOLVED, that the Django Software Foundation Board adopts the DSF Fellow Sabbatical Policy as presented, establishing paid sabbatical accrual, eligibility, usage, and provisions for Board-approved unpaid sabbatical for DSF Fellows.

Bylaws Change for Voting Membership

• Tom Carrick to follow up on the proposed bylaws change.
• The Board discussed whether to vote on the proposed change so that it can proceed to a membership vote.
• The Board discussed keeping the forum open for public comments for a defined period, similar to the process used for adopting the Code of Conduct, before holding the final vote.
• The forum post has been open for approximately one month.

Security Team Working Group

• The Django Software Foundation Board approves the Security Team Working Group charter, formally establishing the Security Team as a DSF Working Group and completing the transition from the former security team structure to the DSF Working Group governance model.

New business

Malcolm Tredinnick Memorial Prize 2026

• Abigail Afi Gbadago to provide an update on the Malcolm Tredinnick Memorial Prize 2026.

Annual Meeting — US Edition

• The board highlights on the planning for the annual membership meeting in conjunction with DjangoCon US in Chicago.

DjangoCon Europe 2027

• Discuss the proposed move of DjangoCon Europe 2027 to February.
• DjangoCon Europe 2027 website link.

Action items

• Board members to review the latest revision of DEP 0019.
• Draft a blog post and/or send a mailer regarding the proposed bylaws change.
• Board members to actively work on the DSF Eexecutive Director hiring process.
