CLA vs. DCO for Django contributors
- Discussed with Steering Council
- Consensus that partial implementation would be inadvisable; requires consistent application across the project
Trademark renewal and liaison
- Contact information needed for trademark firm to proceed with renewal
AI team for Django
- Initial meeting to be scheduled by Afi as Board liaison
Website redesign
- Marketing working group proposal
- Queued up to discuss next month
Video content for Django 6.1 release
- Ongoing planning for a short promotional video to accompany the Django 6.1 release
DSF Individual Members in-person meeting
- Paolo Melchiorre proposed to hold an in-person meeting at DjangoCon EU or US
- Could be structured as an open event for all members
New business
DSF Working Groups
- Need to replace board liaisons for outgoing board members
- To complete asynchronously
DSF community booth at PyCon US
- Plan to send DSF Fellows and Catherine Holmes (Assistant to Treasurer) to represent the Foundation
- Allocation: 2 conference tickets and 2 booth-only tickets
- Budget review underway for travel and lodging costs
- Next steps: Application to be submitted; travel and lodging costs to be determined; board vote planned for next month
Fundraising goal for 2026
- 2025 Results: Raised goal from $200k to $300k (50%) and raised $339k towards $357k of expenses
- 2026 Tentative Target: $450k (50% increase from 2025 goal) with minimum target of $400k
- Rationale: Increased funding will better support foundation operations, the grants program, and make the leap to an Executive Director a little bit more realistic
